Call it adrenaline, creative energy, the muse or a spark — but there’s always a tangible excitement that I feel whenever I start a painting, especially when I envision that painting as part of a series. All those who create feel this in some way, and it’s a feeling I try never to take for granted. It’s a time filled with promise and possibility when nothing is off the table. This series came about soon after starting with the new gallery representing my work, and my mind was very much focused on beginnings.
